Lyrics:

I, I don't care
'Cause everything I do is wrong in your eyes
I tried to tell you something
All that came were lies

And in the morning sun, I try
Only to fail
'Cause everything I think is wrong
In my mind

I tried to tell you something
Something's only lies
And in the only moment, I

I wanna tell you that I love you, but I never get time
I wanna tell you that I need you, but I never get time
I wanna tell you that I love you, but I never get time
I wanna tell you that I love you, but I never get time

Hey, it's my right
I only ever hear your words in spite
And in the moment, all I said were lies
The truth is always so hard to find

I wanna tell you that I love you, but I never get time
I wanna tell you that I need you, but I never get time
I wanna tell you that I love you, but I never get time
I wanna tell you that I love you, but I never get time

I wanna tell you that I love you, but I never get time
I wanna tell you that I need you, but I never get time
I wanna tell you that I love you, but I never get time
I wanna tell you that I love you, but I never get time

SONG MEANING:

Personal interpretation: this reflects my intended meaning behind the song, but the song is still open to individual interpretation.

The song is about wanting to express love inside a relationship where communication has become so damaged that the speaker can barely reach the other person or even trust his own thoughts anymore.

The opening, “I, I don't care / 'Cause everything I do is wrong in your eyes,” comes from frustration and resignation. The speaker feels constantly judged by the other person, to the point where trying to satisfy them begins to seem pointless. “I tried to tell you something / All that came were lies” is about failed communication—the desire to communicate something real, but somehow having the truth become distorted by the time it comes out.

“And in the morning sun, I try / Only to fail” is about waking into a new day and simply trying again. The morning sun represents another opportunity to get things right, but the speaker finds himself falling back into the same failure.

“'Cause everything I think is wrong / In my mind” takes the judgment inward. At first, everything the speaker does is wrong “in your eyes,” but eventually that criticism has entered his own mind, and even his own thoughts begin to feel wrong. “I tried to tell you something / Something's only lies / And in the only moment, I” continues that inability to communicate clearly, almost reaching the moment where something real can finally be said before the thought breaks apart.

The chorus reveals the simple emotional truth underneath everything else: “I wanna tell you that I love you” and “I wanna tell you that I need you.” Despite all the arguments, judgment, lies, and confusion, love and need are what the speaker actually wants to communicate. “But I never get time” works both emotionally and literally. Conflict can prevent the speaker from finding the right moment, but ordinary life does too. People become busy, time keeps moving, and we can go through life without ever properly telling one another how deeply we love or need each other.

The second verse, “Hey, it's my right,” introduces a stronger sense of self-assertion. The speaker pushes back and claims a right to his own thoughts, feelings, and voice. “I only ever hear your words in spite” reflects how the other person's communication has come to feel hostile or resentful.

But the speaker does not make himself innocent. “And in the moment, all I said were lies / The truth is always so hard to find” acknowledges his own failure to communicate honestly or clearly. The conflict is not simply that the other person refuses to listen; both people have become caught in a situation where truth itself is increasingly difficult to reach.

At its core, the song is about the distance between what someone truly feels and what they actually manage to communicate. Beneath everything is love, but surrounding that love are judgment, defensiveness, lies, resentment, self-doubt, the pressures of everyday life, and missed opportunities to simply say what matters.

The strongest contrast is between “the truth is always so hard to find” and the simplicity of “I love you” and “I need you.” The truth itself may actually be simple; everything happening between people—and life constantly moving around them—is what can make it so difficult to express.
